B.F.A New Media

I have always felt that I could relate most subjects in life through art.  After all this time, I believe I have made a range of artworks in different mediums, such as normal and manipulated photography, video media, drawing, and painting that represent fragments of myself and what I enjoy creating.

That being said, when I start a work, I have a goal in my mind or a client I want to please.  For each of my artworks, the goal is usually for a contest or project, other than cosplay/costume photography.  Due to the fragmentary nature of my art, I often have a hard time connecting to my work.  In making work for contests and projects, I feel so confined by guidelines that sometimes I do not have a  chance to sit down and relish in my work.  These confinements give me parameters to work with to make the process easier.  However, unless I have inspiration for the project, these parameters can prove difficult for me to work within.  Once I have inspiration, and I lose myself in a project, my fears vanish and I relish in the act of creation.  These concerns of mine are heightened when I see other artists make new pieces almost every day.  It seems daunting to me.  However, even with these patterns, when I can sit back and look at the work I have done, I feel satisfied and pleased with what I have accomplished.

I want people who view my artwork to appreciate what they see.  With that, my art is also very personal. I make art for my own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of people who are willing to spend time observing my work.  Further, because I love working on representations of fan art, I hope to expand people’s views on what I represent.  This goes for anything ranging from video games, television, movies, etc.
