Lindsey Swink
B.F.A. Graphic Design
As a Graphic Designer, I complete the majority of my work on a computer. However, I feel most free when I can start the process by drawing on a blank sketchpad. There are no limitations to starting on a fresh page, the possibilities are endless. Even after it’s time to move a design to a computer, I like to keep that freedom alive through enticing typography, bright pops of color, or an unexpected layout. I absolutely love anything hand-drawn and am greatly inspired by artists like Sandra Suy and David Bray who aren’t afraid to break the mold. These artists step out of their category norm and create beautiful soft illustrations with bold pairings of color, geometric shapes, or shocking imagery. It is this mixture of soft and bold that I find most compelling and strive for in my own work. It is my goal as an artist to never be predictable and to always be versatile in my design.
