B.F.A. Drawing

In my current body of work, I have been playing with the idea of motion and different ways of representing it; from comic panels showing actions to making the viewer’s eye move around the drawing.  I am intrigued by the idea of making a drawing actually move across the canvas rather than representing a static image. Making stop motion videos allows me to show this motion I have long wanted to represent. I love the idea of making traditional drawing misbehave and making the drawing messy with images of my drawing process.

I tend to see humor in life’s little situations; I’ve always found little things to laugh about in everyday occurrences. I decided it would be fitting to pay homage to my first few drawing classes and poke fun at the exercises we did during class; playing with techniques and subject matter such as framework and the still-life. I always found it amusing how objects we drew seemed to move every time you came back to your drawing no matter how many times you measured them and made sure their proportions were correct.
